Elements and Performance Criteria
- Plan and supervise pre-deployment activities
- Deployment instructions are received, acknowledged and clarified in accordance with organisational policies and procedures
- Briefings are attended to receive further information and tasking to enable deployment activities
- Deployment instructions are reviewed to plan tasking and activities required to be coordinated by team leaders
- Lines of communication are maintained with team leaders during the pre-deployment phase to ensure teams are kept informed of the developments in the situation
- Pre-deployment tasking is issued to team leaders in accordance with organisational policies and procedures
- Team leader deployment preparation is monitored to ensure capability members are individually ready for deployment
- Preparation of stores and equipment is monitored to ensure they are operational, and ready for use and deployment
- Specialist requirements are considered and catered for during the preparation of stores and equipment
- Loading of stores and equipment for deployment is monitored to ensure transportation is safe and its availability on arrival is in accordance with operational need
- Final deployment instructions are confirmed and communicated to team leaders to ensure all capability members are informed and ready for deployment
- Supervise deployment activities
- Deployment site and siting considerations are confirmed with commander on arrival at deployment area
- Detailed instructions are issued to team leaders including ground brief, detailed tasks and timings
- Setting up of capability stores and equipment is monitored to ensure capability is operational and ready for use
- Problems with deployment are identified and rectified as they occur to ensure the deployment of capability is in accordance with the deployment instructions
- Rectification action outside own limits of authority are referred to commander for resolution
- Lines of communication with co-located capabilities and other stakeholders are established to enable inter-operability
- Setting up of the support facility's amenities is contributed to as directed by facility commander
- Supervise the operation of a deployed capability
- Maintenance of operational posture is monitored to ensure the operation of the capability complements both the provision of services and the operational environment
- Reports and returns are compiled and issued to commander in accordance with organisational policies and procedures
- Maintenance of stores and equipment is monitored to ensure they are available and ready for use
- Supervision of team leaders is provided appropriate to changing priorities and situation, and takes into account the differing needs and skills of individuals
- Supervise re-deployment activities
- Re-deployment instructions are received, acknowledged and clarified in accordance with organisational policies and procedures
- Re-deployment instructions are reviewed to plan tasking and activities required to be performed by teams
- Re-deployment tasking is issued to team leaders in accordance with organisational policies and procedures
- Refurbishment of stores and equipment is monitored to ensure capability is made ready for future deployments and to identify maintenance needs between deployments
- Loading of stores and equipment for re-deployment is monitored to ensure transportation is safe and its arrival in the new location is in accordance with operational need
- Evaluation of deployment is conducted to identify lessons learned to improve future deployments
